Yanagisawa BWO2 Baritone Saxophone
The Yanagisawa BWO2 Baritone Saxophone and with a lacquered finish is an elite instrument aimed at professionals and excelling students. The BWO2’s keys are attached directly onto the saxophone and have a fluororesin, non-stick coating on top to prevent players from getting sticky keys in the future. The B902 contains mechanically superior design features. All B902 Saxophones are hand engraved by highly skilled craftsmen. This saxophone comes with its very own leatherette covered, wood shell case.
B9O2 Bronze Body
The BWO2 saxophone features a stunning bronze body that gives a darker edge to the playing, making it a great instrument for mellower sounding music. As well as that, the colour difference between the bronze body and brass mechanisms give a lovely aesthetic touch.
The B902 features a regular key work design found on most saxophones. The keys are mounted directly onto the saxophones body and includes a newly designed octave system. To prevent the octave keys from becoming sticky, Yanagisawa have produced a fluororesin, non-stick coating, to gain a reliable action and to avoid stickiness of the keys in the future.
White Shell Lining
A white shell lining has been added to the keys to not only make the saxophone more eye catching but also to reduce the chance of the player’s fingers slipping during a technical passage.
C# – Bb Rocking Keys
The C and Bb keys have been adapted to feature a rocking table (see-saw) mechanism that enables optimal speed and fluidity between these pitches.
Bell Key Buffer
The B902 features plastic, adjustable buffers on the bell keys to allow player to have full control of the bell toneholes.
Yanagisawa use blue steel springs as opposed to stainless steel as they are more efficient and hold tension more effectively, therefore enhance the key action.
Pad Type/ Reflector
To extend the life of the pads, Yanagisawa have designed them to be waterproof and air-tight. These features will also enable players to be more confident in the instrument’s tonal integrity. Underneath the pads, plastic reflectors have been attached to allow the sound to project as expected.
Special pointed pivot screws are used in the centre of all the arms on Yanagisawa saxophones. These screws accurately control the stability of the centre arms, and help achieve a high precision action.
The bell and body of the saxophone are both linked together by a three-point, balanced brace that enables structural security and firm resonance, despite fortissimo being sought.
Thumb Hook and Rest
The thumb hook and rest are attached to the body of the saxophone using four small points of contact, causing minimal negative resonant impact.
The included ebonite mouthpiece is a favourite among sax players. They are popular because of theirr warm tones and ability to fit into an ensemble seamlessly.
