Trombones
A brief
description of the trombone
Trombones
have changed very little since their conception unlike most other
instruments although they were originally called sackbuts
What sets it apart from other brass instruments is
it's ability to slide smoothly from one note to another
This effect
is called a glissando. Listen out for it in Bartok's Concerto for
Orchesta
Much use has been made of the glissando for comic effect
in pieces like "The Acrobat" by J.A. Greenwood
