Taylor Chicago Jazz Trumpet Patina Finish

"In order to be included in the Chicago range it had to be built to the same quality level that the other Chicago models are made. That means the same super high quality stainless steel valve sections that are used on all the Chicago models. The same premium quality high Nickel content outer slide tube that is used on all the Chicago models. The same machined from solid Phat finger rings that are fitted on all the Chicago models. The same style, detail and finishing as the other Chicago model trumpets. Why is all this important? Because quality materials, components, construction and finishing are essential for the trumpet to wear the title Taylor Chicago.

In order to make this new Taylor Chicago Jazz at a slightly lower price we have sourced more of the machined parts and sub assembly from our valve supplier. The valves are premium quality we know, as we have been using these for a few years now. They can also make other parts and sub assemblies to the same quality as well. By negotiating with them to make more parts to our specification and designs we can make this new model to a very high level and still keep the cost down. Keeping the options list down helps maintain a lower price and continuity. Detailing, final assembly and finishing is still done here at Taylor so you can be assured of a super quality product. It had to be made with no compromises.

Technical differences are also apparent. In order to make it more adaptable to all players, the mouthpiece receiver on this model is the industry standard size, so virtually any mouthpiece will fit (you will still get a Taylor mouthpiece with it). The bell bend has been made very slightly higher to accommodate any size hand. The Taylor Chicago Jazz is supplied as standard with stainless steel finger buttons and top and bottom caps. These are super hard wearing and more importantly do not need lacquer or plate, so no more lacquer wearing off issues on the parts that are constantly being handled. This keep the instrument looking good for longer. These are so cool that we offer them across the whole Chicago range should you fancy them. Lastly the leadpipe on the Jazz is a heavy version of the pipe within a pipe system fitted to the Chicago X-Lite.

That's the techie stuff, but what you really want to know is, How does it play?

Simple answer is amazingly well. It possesses all the usual Taylor character. The timbre and variety of tonal colours lend it itself so well to all forms of Jazz and commercial styles. It's very easy to play, free blowing and very responsive. It can really let rip as well when needed, there is power in reserve. Here at Taylor we are very happy with the performance of this model. All very well me telling you this, but you will need to try it for yourself to really find out how good trumpet this is.

The Jazz has a sister horn called The Taylor Chicago Storm. Same concept, same price, same build quality, only a smaller yellow brass bell instead of the larger redbrass bell fitted to the Jazz. Lighter gauge tube used throughout, the Jazz being made from heavier tube. The Storm is finished in part polished, part brushed clear lacquer as opposed to the Jazz being Finished in the cool vintage tint lacquer.

So you have a choice, The Taylor Chicago Jazz as the more commercial variant, or the equally impressive Taylor Chicago Storm for the more mainstream option"
