The Claude Lakey 9*3 tenor sax mouthpiece has a tip opening -of.126mm. This mouthpiece has the biggest tip opening they make. It is also big and powerful but the chamber is slightly larger than the 8*3.  The 9*3 has a warmly bright round sound with great projection.
The tenor handcrafted mouthpieces are traditionally bright but many players with a willingness to experiment with different reeds, ligatures and ligature placement have achieved a darker sound. All six mouthpieces are different in the facing, chamber and tip opening.
