The B & M trumpet or cornet valve guard velcro black is a light weight leather valve guard with velcro fastening insterad of the traditional lace up type. This B & M (Barnes & Mullins) product can be attached & removed more quickly than the lace up type for example when carrying out thorough cleaning. It would not be a good idea to immerse the instrument in water with the B & M trumpet or cornet valve guard velcro attached as the leather would become soggy & would take a very long time to dry out completely. So this velcro style has an advantage over the traditional lace up type.
