The “Espresso” is an accurate reproduction of Selmer Soloist Short Shank… a precious mouthpiece which strangely became desired when Selmer discontinued it.
The “Short Shank” was the stock mouthpiece the Super Balanced Action (maybe the earlier Mark VIs as well) came with…
It was (and still is!) a kind of “swiss army knife” mouthpiece, suitable for any kind of genre/style.

When the Soloist Long Shank appeared, many jazz saxophone players got back to the older Short Shank, because it was more versatile and overall more efficient.

The Espresso is perfect combination of the original design elements of the originale Selmer Short Shank and extensive hand finishing.
Very versatile… with the typical vibe of the original masterpiece which is reproduced from, the Soloist Short Shank.
Excellent warmth… very even from top to bottom, perfectly in tune and with a touch of added projection and volume, to match what the modern player requires.
