Taylor Piranha Half Dizzy Trumpet
The Taylor Piranha Half Dizzy Trumpet is a new take on the Piranha trumpet with an upward facing bell in a “half dizzy” position.
The Taylor Piranha Trumpet is Andy Taylor’s most recent model and current best seller, so popular that it has only recently appeared on his website – they tend to sell by word of mouth, reputation and (in healthier times) players showing them off on gigs. The Piranha plays exceptionally well, giving a big full tone right throughout the range.
We currently have a selection on Piranhas in stock, please enquire for further information on our current stock.

Andy Taylor says:
This is the flagship model in our range of trumpets. Huge sound, flexibility, super wide dynamic range and such a cool look. Its an ML bore horn that sounds and responds like the very best large bore trumpets without needing an Olympic athletes lungs capacity to play it for any length of time! As if that wasn’t enough, it does all this at an impressively light weight. In a nutshell, all the power, projection and presence of a heavy large bore horn in a comfortable lighter ML easy to play package.
This is probably the most versatile ‘commercial’ trumpet on the market today (from any manufacturer). Maybe you’re thinking, surely there must be a downside? Well, you might get some strange looks from the other smartly dressed ladies and gentleman in the Symphony Orchestra!
Taylor Trumpets
Taylor instruments are handmade and their appearance may vary from the images shown here.
Taylor Trumpets are handmade in Norwich, UK by Andy Taylor and his small team. Having trained at Paxmans French Horns, Andy set up his own business making bells for other manufacturers of brass instruments and has been making his own trumpets since 1989.
Known as a master bell maker, Andy Taylor has also introduced one-piece machined leadpipes and is always keen to innovate. With a flair for the aesthetic side of trumpet design, Taylors are often seen with all sorts of funky designs.
Best known amongst jazz players, the Taylor trumpet range now includes instruments suitable for all genres. Taylor also make flugels, the occasional cornet and other more unusual horns by request.
