This Vintage F Van Cauwelaert Valve Trombone is a military marching trombone styled after a cimbasso. Originally a high pitched instrument, it has been converted to standard pitch by the addition of some extra tubing. Unfortunately, as is often the case, too much was add and it now plays low. It is an unusual Bb/E instrument and also has an unusual valve system in that the third valve is pitched a semitone lower than usual.

The overall condition of this instrument is very much that of a “fixer-uper”.
