Some of the Sousaphones listed below are partly made of fibreglass

This makes them considerably lighter than those Sousaphones made of brass

For the marching band player who is required to be active for display purposes, this is of great benefit

For the player who is relatively static & where tone quality is important, then a brass Sousaphone would be more suitable

Brass Sousaphones are however more expensive than fibreglass Sousaphones
