This mouthpiece was made to fit euphoniums that were made pre-1974 such as a Boosey & Hawkes or Besson model and has a similar shank size to a Denis Wick M. For example a Denis Wick 4AM euphonium mouthpiece. Most modern euphoniums need a mouthpiece with a larger shank size for example a Denis Wick 4AL or a Denis Wick 4BL euphonium mouthpiece, but if you have a vintage Boosey & Hawkes or Besson euphonium this mouthpiece will have the correct shank size.
