The Stagg Rotary Valve Bass Trumpet is a good value bass trumpet in Bb with three rotary valves. Ideal for new players looking for an inexpensive introduction to the bass trumpet or to have on standby for that last minute Janáček Sinfonietta! Also occasionally used in jazz, to offer a different sound and agility to the trombone.
This is a small bore bass trumpet which at 11.66 mm/0.459″ matches the bore of many regular Bb trumpets. This is what gives the characteristic bass trumpet sound and is the main area where it differs from the valve trombone.
