Tenor Horns are brass instruments in the saxhorn family, and are usually pitched in E♭. It has a bore that is mostly conical, like the flugelhorn and baritone horn. They normally use a deep, cornet-like mouthpiece.
They are most commonly used in British style brass bands, whereas the French Horn tends to take the corresponding role in concert bands and orchestras. However, the tenor horn has occasionally been used as an alternative to the French horn in concert bands.
At Trevor Jones we cater for a wide range of Tenor Horns. Budget models suitable for the beginner are avaliable to order from us from manufacturers such as Wisemann. Top of the range instruments more apprpriate for the advanced soloist, such as the Besson Prestige, are also available.
