Clarinet ligatures are devices that fix the reed to the mouthpiece. In the past most clarinet ligatures were made of metal…nickel plated or silver plated brass, and they still exist and we keep them in stock. However they are now available made of fabric. The result is an improvement in response in the high and low registers. Articulation is also better. The fabric ligatures we keep in stock are made by Rovner and BG and there are various models to choose from. Do come to our shop on Christmas steps in Bristol and try them out. Remember to bring your clarinet and a working reed.
